Prima oar\u0103 a ap\u0103rut \u00een Fran\u0163a (1881), apoi \u00een  Germania (1885),  pentru ca azi sa fie prezent\u0103 \u00een aproape toate \u0163\u0103rile  continentului nostru.<br \/>\n\u00cen Rom\u00e2nia eset \u00eent\u00e2lnit mai ales \u00een Mure\u015f, Cri\u015furi, Some\u015f, Timi\u015f \u015fi  Bega, dar  exist\u0103 multe exemplare \u015fi \u00een cresc\u0103toriile de crap din  jude\u0163ul Bihor (Cefa,  Inand, Taimasda).<br \/>\nSomnul pitic seam\u0103n\u0103  ca form\u0103 cu somnul obi\u015fnuit, de\u015fi nu este \u00eenrudit  cu acesta, \u00eentruc\u00e2t face  parte din alt\u0103 familie (Ictaluridae). At\u00e2t pe  maxilarul inferior, c\u00e2t \u015fi pe cel  superior, pe\u015ftele are c\u00e2te 4 must\u0103\u0163i.  Cele de pe maxilarul superior sunt  repartizate astfel: dou\u0103 \u00een  apropierea col\u0163ului gurii, aplecate \u00een jos,  celelalte dou\u0103 \u00een  apropierea ochilor \u015fi \u00eendreptate \u00een sus, pu\u0163in \u00eenapoi, ca ni\u015fte  coarne.  Cele 4 must\u0103\u0163i de pe maxilarul inferior sunt mai scurte \u015fi dispuse  \u00eentr-o  singur\u0103 linie. \u00cen spatele \u00eenot\u0103toarei dorsale, somnul pitic are o  \u00eenot\u0103toare  adipoas\u0103, la fel ca pe\u015ftii din familia p\u0103str\u0103vului.<br \/>\n\u0162esul muscular puternic din  apropierea cozii se observ\u0103 u\u015for sub pielea  sub\u0163ire a pe\u015ftelui, prin proeminen\u0163ele  ce le alc\u0103tuiesc. Lungimea  medie a somnului pitic este de 18-25 cm, dep\u0103\u015find  rareori 40 cm.  Greutatea medie este de 160-200 g; foarte rar (\u00een cresc\u0103torii)  s-au  prins \u015fi exemplare de 1 kg. Somnul pitic prefer\u0103 apele lini\u015ftite, bogate \u00een vegeta\u0163ie  submers\u0103, cu  fundul acoperit cu nisip sau m\u00e2l. In r\u00e2uri, caut\u0103 cu predilec\u0163ie   locurile unde apele sunt mai domoale.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-644\" title=\"torpe\" src=\"http:\/\/pv-tv.tv\/hun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/torpe.jpg\" alt=\"torpe\" width=\"430\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fishingandhuntingtv.com\/ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/torpe.jpg 430w, https:\/\/fishingandhuntingtv.com\/ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/torpe-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Prim\u0103vara \u015fi toamna st\u0103 \u00een por\u0163iunile mai  pu\u0163in ad\u00e2nci ale apelor, \u00een   timp ce \u00een zilele toride de var\u0103 se retrage c\u0103tre  zonele unde apa este   mai ad\u00e2nc\u0103. Se mi\u015fc\u0103 pu\u0163in \u00een timpul zilei, men\u0163in\u00e2ndu-se,  mai cur\u00e2nd   inactiv, \u00een apropierea fundului apei.<br \/>\nHrana somnului pitic const\u0103 din icre, alevini \u015fi pui de pe\u015fte, insecte   acvatice  \u015fi larvele acestora, materii vegetale aflate \u00een descompunere,   semin\u0163e de  plante, detritus etc. Fiind consumator de icre, somnul  pitic  este un pe\u015fte d\u0103un\u0103tor  at\u00e2t \u00een apele naturale unde s-a \u00eenmul\u0163it,  c\u00e2t  \u015fi mai ales \u00een cresc\u0103toriile de  crap, unde speciali\u015ftii recurg la  orice  metod\u0103 pentru a-l elimina.<br \/>\nAtinge maturitatea sexual\u0103 de regul\u0103 la varsta de 2 ani, mai rar 3 ani.    Reproducerea are loc \u00een aprilie-mai, c\u00e2nd femelele depun cate  2000-3000  boabe  de icre cu diametrul de 3-4 mm.<br \/>\nSomnul pitic se hr\u0103ne\u015fte activ \u00eencep\u00e2nd cu prim\u0103vara \u015fi p\u00e2n\u0103 toamna;   odat\u0103 cu  venirea iernii, p\u0103trunde \u00een stratul de m\u00e2l de pe fundul apei   pentru a  &#8222;hiberna&#8221; pe toat\u0103 durata anotimpului rece, st\u00e2nd \u00een complet\u0103   nemi\u015fcare.<br \/>\nCarnea sa este gustoasa, f\u0103r\u0103 oase, foarte apreciat\u0103.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aceast\u0103 specie a ajuns \u00een Europa \u00een penultimul deceniu al secolului 19, fiind adus\u0103 din S.U.A.
