A new world record has been set in Poland: a gigantic 292-centimeter catfish was caught at Rybniki Reservoir — the largest ever recorded!
During a two-day fishing competition held at the Rybniki Lake in southern Poland, anglers Krzysztof Pyra and Adrian Gontarz, members of the Polska Akademia Wędkarska (Polish Angling Academy), successfully landed the massive fish.

The duo was fishing from a boat using spinning technique with artificial lures. The battle lasted over an hour and a half before the giant finally surfaced and could be safely landed.
Rybniki Lake has long been famous for its enormous catfish population, but this latest catch broke all previous records and immediately entered the annals of international angling history.
“It was the greatest moment of our lives,” said a tired but thrilled Krzysztof Pyra after the competition.
Photos of the massive fish have already spread around the world, inspiring anglers everywhere who dream of landing their own record-breaking catch.
