A Day of Twists and Record Catches on Day 6 of IBCC 2026

By the sixth day of the competition, the weather around Lake Balaton had calmed down significantly, and that change was clearly reflected in the increasing number of bites. The calmer conditions gave fresh momentum to the field, and both the teams and the crew experienced another dynamic day full of turning points.

The day got off to a remarkable start early in the morning, when our crew captured another 30-plus carp on camera. The second 30+ kilogram carp of the 12th IBCC weighed 30.1 kg and was caught by Team KerioBaits on peg 235 in Siófok, at Nagystrand, in the SENCORD sector. This catch already signalled in the morning hours that Day 6 still had plenty of big moments in store.

Not long afterwards, in the early afternoon, another standout result arrived: Team Kaprarina.cz landed the biggest mirror carp of the competition so far, weighing 26.9 kg. With that, the lead changed hands in yet another category, adding even more excitement ahead of the final phase.

As the day progressed, the overall standings also became incredibly tight. From early evening onward, the gap between the two leading teams narrowed to such a small margin that less than the weight of a single fish separated them. Team EKO BAITS III on peg 102 in Balatonkeresztúr – Strand, and Tropic RidgeMonkey Team Cz on peg 49, therefore headed into the final night of the competition locked in a very close battle.

Meanwhile, another major shift took place in the big fish categories as well. Black Carp Team Hungary, fishing on peg 123, caught a 30-plus mirror carp and with it took over the lead in the Biggest Mirror Carp category. The catch not only changed the top of the category standings, but also became one of the most memorable moments of the sixth day.

Day 6 ultimately delivered intensity on every level: the weather turned more favourable, the number of bites increased, more 30+ kilogram fish were landed, and the battle at the top of the overall standings became even more fierce. Everything was in place for the final night of the 12th IBCC to bring real tension and further dramatic turns.
